Quickplay is a new queue form that Riot is working on to replace Blind Pick in League of Legends. Now Riot have revealed which PBE cycle players will get to test out this new queue form.
Have you ever wanted to play some Soraka top lane, but every time you lock it in someone dodges? Well, in the upcoming Quickplay game mode you might finally get to try out your unconventional picks and practice them in a "stress-free" environment.
Riot have teased Quickplay for a while now, but now they've given the date for when players can start testing it on the Public Beta Environment (PBE). Get ready because PBE Patch 13.21 should give fans a chance to try this new game mode.
LoL: Quickplay PBE Cycle Revealed
Quickplay has been something players have desperately been waiting for. It was announced early in LoL Season 13 and finally there is a date when players can start testing it out on the PBE. In an official Riot Games blog post, Riot Sailormoon and Riot Crabdust revealed that Quickplay will hit PBE in the 13.21 dev cycle.
When will it go live? The devs will be testing it on PBE and then rolling it out after LoL Patch 13.21 in "a staggered way, from region to region". Unfortunately, they have not given any information on which regions will roll out Quickplay first.

Quickplay will replace Blind Pick. Before going into queue, players will choose their primary and secondary role, as well as a champion for each. Then, when the queue bubble pops, players will be directly put into the game without ever having to touch the champion select screen.
Data from Riot showed that barely anyone played Blind Pick and that those who did, often chose roles quickly, which then forced newer and less experienced players into more difficult roles they can't play or understand yet. Also, some players wanted to use this queue to practice off-meta picks, but would encounter queue dodgers the minute they locked in their picks.
Depending on your party size, there will be different rules to follow before getting into Quickplay queue.
Solo
- 2 unique champions
- 2 unique positions
- Minimum of 1 Priority position
2–4 players
- All solo rules apply to each player
- Minimum of 1 unique champion per player across the party
- Primary slot selections must be unique across the party (champion and position)
Full team of 5
- No Secondary choices required
- 1 unique champion and position per player across the party
The team will also lower the surrender requirements from 15 minutes to 10 in the early stages of the game. At 20 minutes, only 3 of the 5 members will be needed to surrender.
