Alan Wake 2 isn't even out yet, but the devs are already talking about DLCs? Yes, please! The creative director Sam Lake has revealed that the game will be getting multiple DLCs, and some of them will be free for all Alan Wake 2 players!
Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27, 2023, but we already know that Remedy Entertainment have planned to release multiple DLCs once the game is out.
Some of the DLC titles have already been revealed thanks to the Deluxe Edition of Alan Wake 2. The Deluxe Edition features an expansion pass that will include two expansions: "Night Springs Expansion" and the "Lake House Expansion".
Alan Wake 2's creative director Sam Lake recently revealed that those won't be the only expansions that Alan Wake 2 will receive.
Alan Wake 2: Free DLC Planned For Post-Release
Sam Lake announced at EGX that Alan Wake 2 will be getting free DLC drops that will be "pretty significant", whatever that exactly means.

At the moment, there's not much else known about the state of the Alan Wake 2 DLCs. As far as we can tell, it seems that there will be both paid DLCs (like the ones that are included in the Deluxe Edition according to the Alan Wake 2 FAQ) and free DLCs available to anyone who has the base game, as Lake mentioned at EGX. How many there will be, or when they will come out, is unclear at this point in time.
It's possible that the timeline for Alan Wake 2's DLCs will be similar to that of the first game, Alan Wake . The game was released in May 2010 and the two DLCs "The Signal" and "The Writer" were released in July and October 2010.
Seeing as Lake is already openly talking about the DLCs prior to the release of the game, it could mean that the developers have planned a similar release structure, meaning that the DLCs for Alan Wake 2 could come out in the next few months.
There is no official confirmation for this guess, though. Lake did say that more details about the DLCs will likely be revealed soon after the release of Alan Wake 2.
So, we'll have to wait until the game's release to find out more. Once we've got more information, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
